In computing, object model has two related but distinct meanings:

In Object-oriented programming, a class is a Programming language construct that is used as a blueprint to create objects This blueprint includes attributes In Computer science, message passing is a form of communication used in Parallel computing, Object-oriented programming, and Interprocess communication In Object-oriented programming, inheritance is a way to form new classes (instances of which are called objects using classes that have already been defined In simple terms polymorphism is the ability of one type A to appear as and be used like another type B In Computer science, the principle of information hiding is the hiding of design decisions in a computer program that are most likely to change thus protecting There is an extensive literature on formalized object models as a subset of the formal semantics of programming languages.
