There is no official boundary that separates North Queensland from the rest of the state. Unofficially it is usually considered to have a southern border beginning north of Mackay but historically it has been as far south as Rockhampton. Mackay is a city on the eastern coast of Queensland, Australia, about north of Brisbane, on the Pioneer River. Rockhampton is a regional city and Local Government Area located in Queensland, Australia.
