Reedus lives in New York with his son, Mingus Lucien Reedus, whom he had with model Helena Christensen. Mingus is named after the legendary jazz musician Charles Mingus. Charles Mingus ( 22 April 1922 &ndash 5 January 1979) was an American Jazz Bassist, Composer, Reedus is commonly known for playing the role of Murphy MacManus in the cult movie, "The Boondock Saints", written and directed by Troy Duffy and starring opposite Sean Patrick Flanery and Willem Dafoe. He has confirmed returning for the sequel "Boondock Saints - All Saints Day" which is said to start filming in the summer of 2008. In 2003 Reedus was injured in a car accident after attending an REM concert. He had to undergo surgery on the left side of his face that left only a thin scar above his left eyebrow.
