The Niwa clan (丹羽氏 Niwa-shi?) is a Japanese clan which rose to prominence in the Sengoku period. They claim descent from the medieval Kodama family. Famous clan members include Oda Nobunaga's retainer Niwa Nagahide, as well as Nagahide's 19th century descendants Niwa Nagatomi, Niwa Nagakuni, and Niwa Nagahiro. Niwa Nagahide (丹羽長秀 October 16, 1535 - May 15, 1585) was a Japanese samurai of the Sengoku through Azuchi-Momoyama periods ( October 12, 1803 - August 12, 1866) was a Japanese Daimyo of the late Edo period. ( May 22, 1834 - January 15, 1904) was a Japanese Daimyo of the late Edo period who ruled Nihonmatsu han and was famous ( April 17, 1859 - July 29, 1886) was a Japanese daimyo of the early Meiji period who ruled Nihonmatsu han.

Another clan, the Isshiki-Niwa, bears the same name but has no relation.
