The New Hampshire Outing Club (NHOC) is the oldest and largest student organization at the University of New Hampshire, in Durham, NH. University of New Hampshire ( UNH) is a public university in the University System of New Hampshire (USNH United States. Durham is a town in Strafford County, New Hampshire, United States. Founded in 1911, it currently has around 250 members. The NHOC typically offers 2 to 3 trips each weekend to go hiking, canoing, rock climbing, caving, skydiving, snowshoeing, downhill and cross-country skiing, and mountaineering. The club has also led sailing trips in the summer. The club is entirely student run and decisions for the club are made at weekly business meetings that are open to anyone in the club. The club draws its strength from its student commitment and love of the club that has kept it going for nearly 100 years. The club also does BLOO circles, which are our weekly hangout activity. Having activities like s'mores roasting at a nearby farm, rock climbing, pumpkin carving, frisbee, ice skating, guest speakers, ice cream socials, bowling, movies, and so much more. The NHOC is the perfect club for students because of the size of the club it works as a great networking tool where you can meet so many people and make lots of friends. The club also is great for relieving stress from school by getting students off campus as well as presenting alternative options to students than another weekend on campus.

Cabins
The New Hampshire Outing Club owns two cabins in New Hampshire's White Mountains. The White Mountains are a Mountain range that covers about a quarter of the state of New Hampshire and a small portion of western Maine in the Franconia Notch Cabin, or "Franky" as we call it, was built in the early 1900s. It suffered a propane explosion in 1957 causing the club to rebuild the cabin where it stands today in Franconia Notch State Park. Franconia Notch State Park is located in the White Mountains in northern New Hampshire and straddles of Interstate 93 as it passes through Franconia The cabin operates on a special-use permit from the state of New Hampshire.
Jackson Cabin is located in the northern fringes of Jackson, NH, a small resort town on the southern border of the White Mountain National Forest. Jackson is a town in Carroll County, New Hampshire, United States. The White Mountain National Forest ( WMNF) is a forest contained within the White Mountains in the northeastern United States. It is only a few minutes' drive from the Presidential Range, which includes Mt. Washington, the highest mountain in the Northeast. The Presidential Range is a Mountain range located in the White Mountains of the state of New Hampshire, almost entirely in Coos County Mount Washington is the highest peak in the Northeastern United States at. Trips
Whether you have never gone camping before or your already a pro at it, the NHOC has something for everyone. Mount Washington may refer to Mountains and summits Canada Mount Washington (British Columbia United States We offer multiple trips every weekend and the trips range from beginner to advanced. Most of our trips are located in the White Mountains because of their beauty and location to us, but trips can venture anywhere feasible for a trip.
Freshman Trips
Freshmen Trips are a NHOC staple that has always been a great program and draws people into the club. The week prior to college Freshmen trips are done which are 2-3 leaders from the club taking incoming freshmen on a week long NHOC adventure. From hiking trips to canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing and more the freshmen trips offer an amazing time as the leaders have great trips planned. Students on Freshmen trips get a truly wonderful outdoors experiences while being eased into college by students who have already spent a year or more at UNH and are willing to help the incoming students out and answer questions they might have going into college. Freshmen trips also offer a great opportunity for freshmen to make friends before entering into college. As they will spend a week with a group of other freshmen and then on the night before move-in all trips will meet and share pizza and have fun sharing their experiences and meeting more people. Freshmen trips are all around an awesome experience allowing freshmen to know more about UNH and what to look forward to, and when the dining halls have ice cream and other important college info, as well as the friendships that are built during Freshmen Trips.
