Kulp was born into an upper middle-class family in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Personal life
Though Kulp was married for ten years to Charles Dacus, at the age of 67, she reportedly admitted to being a lesbian saying in response to the question: "Do you find that opposites attract?"
