The Nagnatae or Nagnate were a people listed as living in the west of Ireland according to Ptolemy's map of c. Ireland (pronounced /ˈaɾlənd/ Éire) is the third largest island in Europe, and the twentieth-largest island in the world Claudius Ptolemaeus ( Greek: Klaúdios Ptolemaîos; after 83 &ndash ca 150 A. D. They are thought to be identical with the Fir Ol nEchmacht. Fir Ol nEchmacht was the name of a group or race of people living in pre-historic Ireland.
