The N (Northern) postcode area, also known as the London N postcode area[2], is the part of the London postal district covering much of north London, England. History
The postcode area originated in 1857 as the N district. It was divided into numbered districts in 1917. [3] The districts usually cover a wider area than their names might suggest. As of 2004, the district names do not form part of the postal address. [2]
