MxPx caught the attention of Tooth & Nail Records when they played a "showcase" for the label in 1993 in Herrera's parents' back yard. In September 2006, MxPx and the City of Bremerton started a marketing effort revolving around the band's song "Move to Bremerton". Move to Bremerton is an EP by the band MxPx, released in 1996 Bremerton's Community Renewal Agency secured rights for the song to be played in a promotional website for the city, and MxPx played a concert at the downtown Admiral Theatre on September 16, 2006 with local bands The Divorce and Ruxton Towers. In Mxpx's 2003 release "Ten Years and Running" the booklet contains a list of dates from Mxpx's first 10 years. The dates are: June 30, 1992: First Band practice in yuri's basement. His Mom brought us chips and salsa. July 6, 1992: First show in Mike's backyard. We invited everyone we knew and Mike lost his voice after practicing for a week straight. He could barely sing the show.
October 13-14 1993: Recorded a four-song demo with Aaron Sprinkle. This included songs from Pokinatcha such as "Twisted Words", "Walking Bye", "Too Much Thinking", and "Suggestion Box", which appeared in the 17 single. December 4, 1993: First out of state show. The Satyricon in Portland, Oregon. We were only 5-10 miles from the border so it almost doesn't even count. May 9, 1994: Signed to Tooth and Nail Records. Let's Rock, MxPx's second rarities album, was released on Side One Dummy Records on October 24, 2006. Let's Rock is an MxPx Compilation album of B-sides and unreleased material The album consists of many previously unreleased songs, re-recorded b-sides and acoustic demos. A new full-length album from their side project Arthur is slated for a 2007 release. MxPx spent early 2007 on an international tour through parts of Australia and Europe. In March of 2007, MxPx played at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival in Austin, Texas, and from May through June, they headlined the Tooth and Nail Tour, also featuring Hawk Nelson, The Classic Crime, The Fold, Sullivan, Project 86, and Run Kid Run. In early November 2007, they held a concert at Northern Michigan University, in the University Center.
Also in 2007, MxPx was featured on the labels of 120 limited edition Jones Soda Bottles to promote their July 2007 release, Secret Weapon. They also returned to Tooth and Nail Records. In an interview with Christianitytoday. com Herrera said the band was now free to get back into more of the Christian Market. [10]
Currently, MxPx is touring to promote their latest album, Secret Weapon. Secret Weapon is Christian punk band MxPx 's eighth full-length studio album which was released on July 17, 2007. Chris Wilson is covering for Yuri as drummer in some shows, as Yuri is looking after his baby daughter. Christopher Ryan Wilson (born May 5, 1981 in Provo Utah) is the drummer for the band Allegiance To The Fire.
MxPx toured the United Kingdom with Punchline and The Get Go on the fourth instalment of the Good To Go Tour in February 2008.
