MusiCAD is a scorewriter program originally designed for folk music featuring irregular meter (like 22/16 or 'worse'). A scorewriter, or music notation program, is Software used to automate the task of writing and engraving Sheet music. Folk music can have a number of different meanings including Traditional music: The original meaning of the term "folk music" was synonymous It can automatically generate accompaniment voices from chord symbols. Chord notation refers to the written notation for musical chords. One of its design goals was to be as predictable as possible: 'what-you-write-is-what-you'll-hear'. Later versions do not focus on folk music anymore and will allow up to 32 voices as well as percussion notation. Percussion notation is a type of Musical notation indicating notes to be played by Percussion instruments.
