Mowden is a large housing estate situated on the northern edge of the West End of Darlington. Houses here date back to 1960s and they are among some of the most sought after in the town.
The Mowden estate itself contains an infant and junior school, a small shopping precinct (Mowden shops), Mowden Park rugby club and Mowden Hall, now used as a government office. Darlington Mowden Park RFC is a Rugby union team in the town of Darlington, County Durham.
Nearby areas include Hummersknott and Cockerton. Hummersknott is an area in the western end of Darlington, County Durham which consists of Middle class Post-war houses Cockerton is a suburb of Darlington, a town in County Durham, England.
