Morelia is the capital of the Mexican state of Michoacán de Ocampo. The United Mexican States ( or commonly Mexico (ˈmɛksɪkoʊ () is a federal constitutional Republic in North America. Before the arrival of the Spaniards, the region was inhabited by a people known as the Pirindas, and the place was called "Guayangareo".
