Mormon apostle Elder Richard G. Scott, who was one of the first Mormon missionaries in Uruguay, presided at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Mormon temple in Montevideo. Richard Gordon Scott (born November 7, 1928) is an American Nuclear engineer and a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church is one of the most active modern practitioners of Missionary work with over 50000 full-time missionaries Uruguay.(official full name in República Oriental del Uruguay;, Oriental Republic of Uruguay) is a country located in the southeastern part of South America Montevideo (monteβi'ðeo is the largest city the capital and chief port of Uruguay. During the open house nearly 25,000 people visited the Montevideo Uruguay Temple. Among the visitors was Jorge Batlle, then President of Uruguay.
