Route description
The highway begins at the Iowa state line. Eight miles south of the Iowa state line at Unionville, Route 5 intersects with U.S. Route 136, with which it overlaps for one mile before turning south towards Milan. Improvements between Lebanon and Camdenton
Beginning in the summer of 2008, MoDOT will begin a project to convert Route 5 into a "shared four-lane" highway between Lebanon and Camdenton.
