Michael Scriven (born 1928[1]) is a British-born academic, with a first degree in mathematics and a doctorate in philosophy[2]. Scriven is a past president of the American Educational Research Association and the American Evaluation Association. The American Educational Research Association, or AERA, was founded in 1916 as a professional organization representing educational researchers in the United States He is also an editor and co-founder of the Journal of Multidisciplinary Evaluation.
