Michael Kimmelman is an author and the chief art critic and a columnist for the New York Times.
He was born and raised in Greenwich Village. He graduated summa cum laude from Yale College and received his graduate degree in art history from Harvard University. Latin honors are Latin phrases used to indicate the level of academic distinction with which an Academic degree was earned Yale College was the official name of Yale University from 1718 to 1887 A classical pianist, who still performs, he started as a music critic at the paper, then moved into art. As of fall 2007 he is based in Berlin writing the Abroad column for the Times on culture and society across Europe. Berlin is the capital city and one of sixteen states of Germany.
