Born in Elmira, NY, Michael Fredo moved to New York City at an early age to study music at the Professional Children's School. Elmira is a City in Chemung County, New York, USA. It is the principal city of the 'Elmira New York Metropolitan Statistical Area The City of New York Professional Children's School is an independent day school enrolling 210 students in grades 6-12 The city was kind to Michael and it wasn’t long until he was invited to sing with the prestigious Duke Ellington Orchestra. Edward Kennedy "Duke" Ellington (April 29 1899 &ndash May 24 1974 was an American Composer, Pianist, and Bandleader. Michael was soon in L. A. , auditioning for Quincy Jones. Michael was signed to Qwest Records through Andy Hilfiger Entertainment and began recording his first album, Introducing Michael Fredo.
Michael’s single, This Time Around, reached # 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Sales chart. In order to further promote his album, Michael took a gig touring with Britney Spears on her ...Baby One More Time Tour, sponsored by Tommy Jeans.
Before his album was released, his song, "Who Said", was chosen by the Arnell Group as the theme for the Tommy Girl Fragrance ad campaign. His music also accompanied the Tommy Jeans advertising campaign, of which Michael became the poster boy.
Fredo is currently recording new material for his upcoming album with multi-grammy award winning producer Rudy Perez.
