In Astronomy, an epoch is a moment in time used as a reference for the Orbital elements of a Celestial body. The Shapley–Sawyer Concentration Class is a classification system on a scale of one to twelve using Roman numerals for Globular clusters according to their concentration In common usage a constellation is a group of celestial bodies that are connected together in some arrangement typically stars to form a visible figure or picture Hercules (ˈhɝkjəliːz ˈhɝkjuːliːz is the fifth largest of the 88 modern Constellations It was also one of Ptolemy 's 48 constellations Right ascension (abbrev RA; symbol α) is the Astronomical term for one of the two Coordinates of a point on the Celestial sphere 44s[1]

The Great Globular Cluster in Hercules (also known as the Hercules Globular Cluster, Messier Object 13, Messier 13, M13, or NGC 6205) is a globular cluster in the Hercules constellation at right ascension 16h 41. A globular cluster is a spherical collection of Stars that orbits a galactic core as a Satellite. Hercules (ˈhɝkjəliːz ˈhɝkjuːliːz is the fifth largest of the 88 modern Constellations It was also one of Ptolemy 's 48 constellations Right ascension (abbrev RA; symbol α) is the Astronomical term for one of the two Coordinates of a point on the Celestial sphere 7m and declination +36° 28'. In Astronomy, declination (abbrev dec or δ) is one of the two coordinates of the Equatorial coordinate system, the other being either

It was discovered by Edmond Halley in 1714, and catalogued by Charles Messier on June 1, 1764. Edmond Halley FRS (ˈɛdmənd ˈhɔːlɪ ( November 8, 1656 &ndash January 14, 1742) was an English Astronomer

With an apparent magnitude of 5. The apparent magnitude ( m) of a celestial body is a measure of its Brightness as seen by an observer on Earth, normalized to the value 8, it is barely visible with the naked eye on a very clear night. The naked eye is a Figure of speech referring to human Visual perception that is unaided by enhancing equipment such as a Telescope or Its real diameter is about 145 light-years, and is composed of several hundred thousand stars, the brightest of which is the variable star V11 with an apparent magnitude of 11. A star is a massive luminous ball of plasma. The nearest star to Earth is the Sun, which is the source of most of the Energy on Earth For the astronomical object see Variable star. Variable Star is a 2006 novel written by Spider Robinson 95. M13 is 25,100 light-years away from Earth.

Its diameter is about 23 arc minutes and is readily viewable in small telescopes. Nearby is NGC 6207, a 12th magnitude edge on galaxy that lies 28 arc minutes directly north east. The J2000 coordinates are RA: 16h 41m 41. 5s and Dec: +36° 27' 37". IC 4617 is a small galaxy that lies half-way between NGC 6207 and M13, North-northeast of the large globular's center.

The Arecibo message of 1974 was transmitted toward this globular cluster. The Arecibo message was beamed via frequency modulated Radio waves into space at a ceremony to mark the remodeling of the Arecibo radio telescope The reason was that with a higher star density the chances of a life harboring planet, with intelligent life forms, were higher.
