Martin C. Windrow (1944- ) is a British historian, editor and author of several hundred[1] books, articles and monographs, particularly those on organisational or physical details of military history, and the history of the post-war French Foreign Legion[2][3]. Biography

Windrow is a graduate of Wellington College, and began working on commission as an editor of articles on military and aviation history in the 1970s. He is a member of the Royal Historical Society and the Foreign Legion Association of Great Britain[5]. The Royal Historical Society was founded in 1868. It is the premier society in the United Kingdom which promotes and defends the scholarly study of the past
