Stewart is an avid animal lover. Her pets include champion show Chow Chow dogs, French Bulldogs, Himalayan cats, and Friesian horses. Chow Chow, or Chow, is a breed of Dog that was first developed in Mongolia about 4000 years ago and was later introduced The Himalayan, also called colorpoint Persian and colloquially referred to as Himmy, is a breed of Cat with extremely long fluffy fur and the blue [14] Stewart also created a video[15] on behalf of fur bearing animals after being approached by PETA while in jail. Stewart stated, “I used to wear real fur, but, like many others, I had a change of heart when I learned what actually happens to the animals. ” [16] On April 12, 2008, it was announced via Stewart's official blog that Kublai Khan Paw Paw Chow Chow Chow[17], one of Stewart's dog's, died at age 12.
