Early life
He went to Worksop College, then Trent Polytechnic, where he obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Urban Estate Surveying in 1986. Worksop College is a Co-educational day and Boarding school for those aged 13 to 18 in England. Nottingham Trent University ( NTU) is a University in Nottingham, England. The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS is an independent representative Professional body which regulates property professionals and surveyors He worked as a surveyor for Savills from 1986-88, then was a Partner in Strutt & Parker from 1988-96. Savills Plc is a British firm of Estate agents property advisors and surveyors He was a Director of Hillier Parker from 1997-9, then Managing Director of Mortlock Simmonds from 1999 until becoming an MP, becoming Chairman.
Parliamentary career
He contested the Ashfield seat in 1997. Ashfield is a County constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. Mark Simmonds has recently been promoted to a Shadow Health Minister.
Personal life
He married Lizbeth Hanomancin Garcia in December 1994 in London, and they have two daughters (born March 1999 and October 2000) and a son (born April 2002).
