Malcolm David Ross (born 1942) is a linguist and professor at the Australian National University. The Australian National University, commonly abbreviated to ANU, is a public Research university situated in Canberra, Australia. He is principally interested in Austronesian and Papuan languages, historical linguistics, and language contact. The term Papuan languages refers to those Languages of the western Pacific which are neither Austronesian nor Australian.
