Mahottari District, a part of Janakpur Zone, is one of the seventy-five districts of Nepal, a landlocked country of South Asia. Its headquarter is located in Jaleshwor, a neighboring town of historical city, Janakpur. Janakpur, more commonly Janakpurdham, is a city in Nepal. Janakpurdham is the administrative headquarters of the Dhanusa District of the Janakpur The name Jaleshwor means the 'God in Water'. One can find a famous temple of Lord Shiva in Water there. Jaleshwor lies at a few kilometers distance from the Nepal-India border.
