Following his good one-day form against Sri Lanka, Dhoni replaced Dinesh Karthik in December 2005 as the Indian Test wicket-keeper. Krishnakumar Dinesh Karthik ( Tamil: கிருஷ்ணகுமார் தினேஷ் கார்த்திக் (born 1 June 1985 in Madras, ^[44] Dhoni scored 30 runs in his debut match that was marred by rain.
