Margaret "Maggie" Horton (née Simmons) is a fictional character on the soap opera Days of our Lives, played by Suzanne Rogers since 1973. History

Maggie originally lived on a farm and was crippled by an automobile accident which claimed the lives of her parents and her ability to walk in her childhood. In 1973, Mickey Horton, delirious with fever after a bypass surgery, wandered to her farm, claiming himself to be Marty Hansen. Michael "Mickey" Horton is a Fictional character on the Soap opera Days of our Lives. They fell in love quickly and were married. Maggie read a newspaper article which described a man named Mickey Horton, who was the same as Marty Hanson. Maggie decided against telling Marty about his amnesia as she was afraid to lose him. Tom, Bill and Laura ended up finding him, but Mickey did not remember his true identity. After eventually overcoming his amnesia, Mickey and Maggie found that they loved each other anyway, and remarried, finally giving her the name Horton. Mickey fond a newspaper article which was offering operations at the university hospital in Salem that would give Maggie the ability to walk again, Mickey knew it was Maggie's dream to walk without crutches, Maggie was initially happy to be having the surgery but still worried that Mickey would be tempted to leave her for her family in Salem, a woman named Linda Phillips who claimed to be a friend of Mickey's supported Maggie but was really trying to woo Mickey and convinced him that her daughter Melissa was his, but Maggie received a letter from a man named Jim Phillips who had discovered Linda's antics and informed Maggie that he was Melissa's father, Maggie warned Linda off with this evidence. Bill Horton operated on Maggie's legs and spine many times, and she eventually learned how to walk again.

On 25th December 1975, Mickey gave Maggie the best present she could want, a little girl who he wanted them to adopt.
