The Montreal Locomotive Works RS-10 was a 1,600 horsepower (1,200 kW) road switcher built for the Canadian market. The newton (symbol N) is the SI derived unit of Force, named after Isaac Newton in recognition of his work on Classical Country to "Dominion of Canada" or "Canadian Federation" or anything else please read the Talk Page A road switcher is a type of Railroad Locomotive used for delivering or picking up cars outside of a railroad yard It was essentially an ALCO RS-3 in a redesigned carbody. The ALCO RS-3 is a 1600 hp (12 MW B-B Road switcher Railroad Locomotive. It retained the RS-3's 12-cylinder Alco 244 engine. MLW built 128 of these locomotives before the model was replaced by the MLW RS-18.
