Lutsk (Ukrainian: Луцьк, translit. Luts’k) is a city located by the Styr River in north-western Ukraine. The town continued to prosper as an important economic centre of the region. By mid-17th century Łuck had approximately 50,000 inhabitants and was one of the largest in the area.
