Lukas Wooller is the keyboard player and occasional backing vocalist of British indie rock band, Maxïmo Park, based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Wooller is one of the original members of the band, hailing from Yorkshire, where he went to Batley Grammar School and Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Wakefield, he then attended Newcastle University to study music. Newcastle University is a leading research intensive University located in Newcastle upon Tyne in the north-east of England. As an undergraduate, Wooller was involved in the Newcastle music scene and performed in nearly all North East England's smaller venues with bands such as Bozo, Neon, S22 and The Fallout Trust (including living with them for a while). North-East England is one of the nine official Regions of England and comprises the combined area of Northumberland, County Durham, Tyne and Wear Lukas also worked with the electronic team RTL in Newcastle's Byker area with members of the fallout trust and House DJ's Triky Disko- they performed at Sunderlands bunker club for the Geordie Gabba Mafia with DJ UEP (Use Ear Protection). He formed Maxïmo Park in 2000, after meeting Archis Tiku and Duncan Lloyd in a pub. Archis Tiku (born 6 May 1977 in Bombay, India) is a founding member and bass guitarist of British Indie rock band Maxïmo Park. Duncan Lloyd is guitarist songwriter and backing vocalist for Newcastle-based band Maxïmo Park. His involvement in other music projects remains, including a recent appearance playing keyboards with electronica duo Posthuman and co-writing a track for Modeselektor's 2nd LP. Electronica includes a wide range of contemporary Electronic music designed for a wide range Posthuman is primarily a duo of Richard Bevan and Joshu Doherty
Wooller was an advertising executive for The (now defunct) North Guide (a spin off from The Leeds Guide in Yorkshire). Before Maxïmo Park's record deal, Wooller worked in the Bigg Market of Newcastle as a glass collector. In addition to his various TV appearances, Lukas also briefly featured in the Red Productions film "Vanity" as Governor of the Baker Institute - a film directed by Ben Heyworth of "This Morning Call" fame. On 24 March 2007, Wooller stated that he was a Huddersfield Town fan live on the Saturday morning football programme Soccer AM. Huddersfield Town Football Club is an English football club formed in 1908 and based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. [1]
