Lower Egypt is the northern-most section of Egypt. It refers to the fertile Nile Delta region, which stretches from the area between El-Aiyat and Zawyet Dahshur, south of modern-day Cairo, and the Mediterranean Sea. The Nile Delta ( Arabic: دلتا النيل) is the delta formed in Northern Egypt ( Lower Egypt) where the Nile River spreads Dahshur (Arabic دهشور Dahšūr, in English often called Dashur) is a royal Necropolis located in the Desert on the west bank of the Cairo () which means "the Vanquisher" or "the Triumphant" is the capital and largest city of Egypt.

The climate in Lower Egypt is milder than that of Upper Egypt owing primarily to its proximity to the Mediterranean Sea.
