Llanengan is a small village 1¼ miles or 2 km south west of Abersoch in Gwynedd, north-west Wales. Abersoch is a large Village in the parish of Llanengan Gwynedd, Wales. History Gwynedd was an independent kingdom from the end of the Roman period until the 13th Century when it was conquered and subjugated by England

In its centre is the Church of St. Einion, one of the oldest churches in the Llŷn peninsula. The popular resort village of Abersoch falls within the parish of Llanengan. The local public house is called the Sun. Lead was formerly obtained from a mine just outside the village. A chimney can be seen on the left from the road to Porth Neigwl ('Hell's Mouth'). It marks the entrance to the former lead workings. [1]
