The Little Blue River is a 450-mile long river in southern Nebraska and northern Kansas that was used by Pony Express horseback riders. Little Blue River is a stream in Jackson County Missouri that gave its name to the Battle of Little Blue River during the American Civil War. The Pony Express was a fast Mail service crossing the North American continent from St Ridgelines of this historic watershed defined the wagon train routes first used by Oregon Trail Emigrants.
