Linguère Department is one of the departments of Senegal, one of three located in the Louga Region. The 11 Regions of Senegal are subdivided into 35 departments and 103 arrondissements (neither of which have administrative function and by collectivités locales Louga is a city and region of Senegal. The region is located to the northwest part of the country and Louga city is in the northwest of the region - about 50km inland Its capital is Linguère, and it emcompasses some 19716km/sq. Linguère is a town located in the Linguère Department, Louga Region of Senegal.

As of the December 2002 census, the population was 194,890 inhabitants.
