Visually and thematicly, the film has many in common with the American science-fiction/horror film Alien- specifically, the first film. Alien is a 1979 science fiction / Horror film directed by Ridley Scott and starring Sigourney Weaver. The film is set in the 23rd century, when companies are now surveying distant planets for mining rights. The Sincam corporation is investing a relatively new planet and has hired the Saldes (a deep-space cruiser), to shuttle company surveyors to check it out.
En route, the ship's computer detects debris flying to space and collects a sample, but the extraterrestrial matter gets loose in the ship while the crew and the surveyors are in cryogenic sleep. Cryogenics is often used incorrectly to refer to Cryonics, cryopreserving humans or animals The ship crew learns that two of the surveyors are imposters, but the real trouble starts when one of them is found dead from a mysterious infection.
The bacteria quickly evolves into a hostile life-form capable of mimicking the form of its human victims. The creature continues to terrorize the remaining humans as it morphs and becomes stronger. (Its shape changing ability is clear reference to the 1982 John Carpenter Film The Thing (film)). The Thing is a 1982 science fiction and Horror film directed by John Carpenter, written by Bill Lancaster and starring The vicious monster continuously changes form as it hunts down the crew- capable of metabolising both organic matter and the metallic infrastructure of the ship.
The only hope for survival may be on the lush planet just outside the ship. . . if anyone can survive long enough to reach it.
