Leslie grew up in her birthplace of Paris, Texas, where she sung in local churches and schools – an experience which she lists as one of her biggest influences. Paris is a city located 98 miles (158 km northeast of the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex in Lamar County, Texas, in the United States.
