Lê Văn Thiêm is one of the most prominent scientists of Vietnam in the 20th century. Together with Hoàng Tụy, he is considered the father of Vietnam Mathematics society. Hoàng "Jefferson" Tụy (born December 17 1927) is a prominent Vietnamese applied Mathematician.
