A system of plant taxonomy, the Kubitzki system was published in

Kubitzki, K. This list of systems of plant taxonomy presents “taxonomic systems” used in plant classification et al. (1990 ongoing). The families and genera of vascular plants.

The system is important as being a comprehensive, multivolume treatment of the vascular plants, with descriptive treatments of all families and genera, mostly by specialists in those groups. Vascular plants (also known as tracheophytes or higher plants) are those Plants that have lignified tissues for conducting The Kubitzki system has served as the family-level reference to pteridophyte and gymnosperm classification, as well as for the angiosperm groups published up to that date, for the influential dictionary:

Mabberley, D. J. (1997). The plant-book. A portable dictionary of the vascular plants, 2nd edition.

The classification system in the initial angiosperm volumes closely resembles the Cronquist system in ordinal and family arrangements, but later volumes have been influenced by recent molecular systematic studies. A system of plant taxonomy, the Cronquist system is a scheme for the classification of flowering plants (or Angiosperms) The recent volume on Malvales adopts a classification close to that of the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group:

Kubitzki, K. The Angiosperm Phylogeny Group, or APG, refers to two international groups of systematic botanists who came together to try to establish a consensus view of the and M. W. Chase (2003).
