The school was formerly known as (Government English School) before it was renamed as Secondary English School in 1958. Year 1958 ( MCMLVIII) was a Common year starting on Wednesday (link will display full calendar of the Gregorian calendar. In 1980,the school's name was yet again changed to assume its current name.
