Keyham is an Edwardian suburb of Plymouth in the English county of Devon. Plymouth ( is a city and unitary authority area on the coast of Devon, England about south west of London. England is a Country which is part of the United Kingdom. Its inhabitants account for more than 83% of the total UK population whilst its mainland Devon is a large county in the South West of England. The county is also referred to as Devonshire, but that is an entirely unofficial name
It was built to provide dense cheap housing just outside the wall of HM Dockyard Devonport for the thousands of civilian workmen. Her Majesty's Naval Base (HMNB Devonport ( HMS ''Drake'') is one of three UK operating bases for the Royal Navy (the others being HMNB Clyde and Parts of the southern end are now subject to massive redevelopment using a Regeneration package.
