The Kent County League (currently for sponsorship reasons known as the British Energy Kent County League) is a football competition based in Kent, England. Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a Team sport played between two teams of eleven players and is widely considered KENT (1400 AM) is a Radio station broadcasting a Adult Standards/MOR format England is a Country which is part of the United Kingdom. Its inhabitants account for more than 83% of the total UK population whilst its mainland The league has five senior divisions - a Premier Division, Division One East and West and Division Two East and West, plus reserve divisions. It is a feeder to the Kent League (step 5 of the National League System). History The first Kent League was formed in 1894 and folded in 1959 The National League System comprises the seven levels of the English football league system immediately below the level of the FA Premier League and The Football However, the KCL Premier Division is officially classified as a Step 7 league due to the quality of grounds in the league and the standard of play. In practice, since there is no Step 6 league that covers Kent, the KCL is at the 10th level of the pyramid. Upon the completion of the non-league re-organization, it is likely that a larger regional league will cover Step 6 in Kent, pushing the County League back to level 11 status in reality as well as in theory.

In the 2007-08 season, it has 15 clubs in the Premier Division. The bottom two clubs face relegation to the regional lower divisions.
