Programming
KBMY and KMCY signed on in 1985, bringing the full ABC schedule to western North Dakota and eastern Montana for the first time ever. Before 1985, portions of ABC programming were carried by the KX Television and Meyer Television groups. KXMC-TV, channel 13 is the CBS affiliate for Minot North Dakota. KFYR-TV, channel 5 is the NBC affiliate for Bismarck North Dakota. Prior to K44HR's inception, cable television subscribers in the Williston area received Denver's KMGH-TV on cable for ABC programming. The City and County of Denver (pronounced /ˈdɛnvɚ/ is the Capital and the most populous city of Colorado, in the United States KMGH-TV is the ABC television affiliate in Denver Colorado. It broadcasts its analog signal on VHF channel 7 and its digital signal on UHF channel 17 from Dickinson also received KMGH, especially as they were in Mountain Time Zone, until K42FY signed on. The stations do not produce much local content. KMCY largely simulcasts KBMY, aside from local commercials. The Dickinson station directly repeats KBMY, while the Williston station repeats KMCY.
A 30-minute morning show, "Good Morning West Dakota," is produced by Bismarck radio station KBMR and aired on all four stations. KBMR (1130 AM) known as "Country 1130" is a Radio station located in Bismarck North Dakota, owned by Clear Channel Communications It is the only local newscast on KBMY and KMCY, and there are no local cut-ins during Good Morning America.
