Wright was born in Washington, Pennsylvania in April 17, 1810 the son of a brickmaker. Washington is a city in Washington County, Pennsylvania, United States and part of the Pittsburgh Metro Area. He moved with his family to Bloomington, Indiana in 1820. Bloomington is a city and the County seat of Monroe County in the south central region of the U He was the brother of former Iowa Senator George G. Wright. The State of Iowa ( is a state in the Midwestern region of the United States of America. The United States Senate is the Upper house of the bicameral United States Congress, the Lower house being the House of Representatives George Grover Wright ( March 24 1820 &ndash January 11 1896) was a United States Senator from Iowa. His father died when he was fourteen and he worked as a janitor, bellringer, and occasional bricklayer in order to pay for his schooling. In Bloomington he attended a common school and later attended Indiana University and graduated in 1825.
