He was a prominent character in Troma Studio's film, Tales from the Crapper, in which he portrayed a raccoon-headed young man who is unlucky in love. García was the first actor to be cast on Lost. The producers saw him on Curb Your Enthusiasm the night before casting began, and created the character of Hugo Reyes specifically for him. Curb Your Enthusiasm is an American Sitcom starring Seinfeld writer co-creator and executive producer Larry David as himself and García had to miss his sister's wedding back on the mainland because he was shooting scenes for the series in Hawaii.
