Stamos was born in Cypress, California, the son of Loretta (née Phillips) and Bill Stamos, a fast food restaurateur. Cypress is a city located in southern California near the northern border of Orange County. [1] Stamos has two younger sisters, Alaina and Janeen who both work as school teachers. He began learning drums at the age of four. When he was 13 he started a rock band with a couple of his friends and named the band Destiny. The band was able to get paying gigs at parties and local amusement parks. Prior to that, Stamos had enjoyed putting on puppet and magic shows, and making movies with the family movie camera as a child.
