John was tall, good-looking and seemed destined for stardom when he was cast as the male lead in both She and One Million Years BC. He was even considered for the role of James Bond, but lost out to George Lazenby. For some reason Richardson's career failed to maintain momentum and eventually petered out after some continental and almost soft porn movies.
Richardson retired from acting in the 1990s, and is now a noteworthy photographer with no desire whatsoever in looking back on his career in cinema. Now aged 73, he is leading an anonymous existence in a small town somewhere in the United Kingdom.
