Jeanne Chezard de Matel, (6 November 1596 – 1670), was the French Foundress of the Order of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament, the rule and constitutions of the order being approved in 1633. Events 355 - Roman Emperor Constantius II promotes his cousin Julian to the rank of Caesar, entrusting him with The Order of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament is an order of nuns founded in the early part of the seventeenth century by Jeanne Chezard de Matel. The principal objective of the order was youth education.
Mother de Matel was considered a strong and simple leader with a clear feeling for her objectives. A prolific writer, there remains archives containing more than 5000 pages of her writings.
