She was married twice: in 1950 to Stewart Granger, divorcing in 1960, and in 1960 to director Richard Brooks divorcing in 1977. Stewart Granger ( May 6, 1913 &ndash August 16, 1993) born James Lablache Stewart, was an English film Actor Richard Brooks (May 18 1912 – March 11 1992 was an American Screenwriter, director, Novelist and occasional producer. She has two daughters, Tracy Granger (born 1956) and Kate Brooks, one by each marriage. Simmons sought treatment for alcohol addiction in 1986 and currently lives in Santa Monica, California.
