Srinath was born in Mysore in Karnataka. Mysore (maɪˈsɔɚ in English; renamed to Mysuru|ಮೈಸೂರು) (ಮೈಸೂರು is the second largest city in the state of Karnataka, India Karnataka (ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ pronounced) is a state in the southern part of India He was attracted towards cricket right from an early age.
