The Japan Hot 100 Singles is based on U. S. Billboard Hot 100. It components CD package sales data from Soundscan Japan and radio audience levels data from Plantech. Nielsen SoundScan is an information system created by Mike Fine and Mike Shalett that tracks sales of music and music video products throughout the United States and Canada [1]
