Villalon was born in San Diego, California to a Filipino father and an American born mother of German and Irish descent. Villalon first entered the music world when she joined the band Gemstone along with Christina Vidal and Crystal Grant. Christina Abbi Vidal (born November 18, 1981) is an American Film and Television actress and Singer. After the success of her first two albums, Jade is currently in Prague recording her third solo album, which will be released late 2008 or early 2009.

She recently featured in track 12 (You Don't Know Me) of her first Korean album as Jade Valerie. It is titled Out of the Box, but it contains songs from both Out of the Box and Bittersweet Symphony.
