The Island Barn Reservoir lies south of the River Thames in England at West Molesey. The Thames ( is a major River flowing through southern England. Molesey is a place in the Elmbridge district of Surrey. Situated in the commuter-belt of London it is a typical suburban area ^[1] The reservoir is 122 acres (0. 49 km²) large and is managed by Thames Water. Thames Water, known originally as the Thames Water Authority and after privatisation as Thames Water Utilities Limited, is the utility responsible It is within the borough of Elmbridge and is surrounded by the River Mole to the west and the River Ember to the east. Island Barn Reservoir Sailing Club hosts dinghy sailing races and training at the reservoir. Sailing is the art of controlling a Sailing vessel. The reservoir is a bird watching site and Black-necked grebes have been sighted here. The Black-necked Grebe, Podiceps nigricollis, known in North America as the Eared Grebe, is a member of the Grebe family of water birds ^[3]
